Video game enthusiasts whose main gaming rig will enjoy the changes Sony has made to the PlayStation Network ID setup. As you might already painfully have known, you were not allowed to change the PSN ID once set up.
That left many users with weird hard to remember (or read) names such as 48inget649xx. Well, 🙂 you can give some examples of the most hilarious and out-of-this-world names you have seen in the PlayStation Network.
On Wednesday, April 12, Sony made key changes to the PSN ID system. Giving gamers the ability to change their names. Finally, you can change that absurd name your 11-year-old self thought is funny, to something that reflects better with your maturity over the years.
You can change your PSN ID on the PS4 gaming rig itself, or through a web browser, but not so fast:
“All PS4 games originally published on or after April 1st, 2018 have been developed to support the online ID change feature, but we do not guarantee that they are fully compatible with the feature,” wrote Sony as a disclaimer in its FAQ.
“The large majority of most actively played PS4 games support the feature.”
