You can easily tether your ZTE Zmax phone using a Windows computer. Make sure that you have Windows XP or above (Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7) in your computer.

First, download Foxfi in your phone which you want to tether. Foxfi is one of the best apps for tethering and rooting.

Now download and install UtraSurf on your computer. Make sure to install this software in the computer which will be used to tether ZTE Zmax Pro.

Start UltraSurf on your PC and then connect to your hotspot.

Use Foxfi to launch the hospot.

In your computer, Open Registry Editor by typing and running the following command in the run box

regedit.exe

Now, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, and head over to the following key:

\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.

In the right pane, add the following value:

Name: DefaultTTL

Type: REG_DWORD

Now double click the pane and add 65 as hexadecimal.

Now restart the computer.

Your phone doesn’t need to be rooted if it is hosting the hotspot.

Generally, Android users would need a rooted device. You can use this app.

Some users have reported that just changing the TTL value will be enough to tether ZTE Zmax Pro. There is no need to use Foxfi.  Turn on the hotspot using the toggle button and then go to quick settings and then change TTL from 64 to 65.

If you are unable to tether ZTE Zmax because your phone isn’t rooted, try using a VPN on your phone and then proxy. If you are using the connection plan of MetroPCS, things would work smoothly for you.

If the above mentioned method doesn’t work, you can refer to a different method depicted in the video below to do unlimited tethering of ZTE Zmax Pro
