How to schedule Sending Email on Gmail

how to schedule sending email on gmail (1)

Over the past three years, Google has been doing a lot of baking on its Gmail platform. We saw them port out a new email platform – Inbox by Gmail – that they just later deprecated and just recently terminated.

However, from all that experimenting, there some new features borrowed from Inbox by Gmail and brought to the normal Gmail platform we all would be happy to use. One of which is the ability to schedule your outgoing (sending) email to be sent at a later pre-determined date and time.

As it works out, you simply type your email as you would normally.

When you’re done, go to the Send button at the bottom. Instead of clicking on that button, click on the drop-down menu next to it.

At this point, you will be presented by default set time by Google, but you can choose your own date and time by click on Pick date & time button.

At this point, you can set the date and time of your choice

Now you can go about your business. The email will be sent at the time you set, and you don’t even need to be online for that to happen.

This feature is quite ideal if you want to plan when your recipient will get the email. It has been said that the best time for most people to read their emails is early in the morning when they get back o work and after lunchtime. Of course, that is subjective, and you should come up with what works for you best since you might have an idea of when the recipient is likely to be less busy and thus find time to read through your email.
