So Microsoft released the latest version of Windows 10; the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, at the end of last month. 19 days into May, some people (actually most people) around the world are yet to get the update roll onto their system.
There is nothing strange about that! It simply is the fashion Microsoft chooses; roll out the new version in waves slowly over time. That way, their servers don’t get overwhelmed by so many computers around the world downloading files off them (the servers) at thesame time. It is also a precautionary measure, just in case the update doesn’t work so well with some computers, the damage will not be so widespread, and the company can come in quickly with a fix before the newest version rolls over to everyone.
Funny things, for some users in some parts of the world, it will be months before the Windows 10 April 2018 Update rolls onto their system naturally. If you are eager to have this latest Windows 10 version, you are probably impatient and would prefer to have it yesterday.
Well, you can get it right now, by using this simple (legal) tricks to skipping the queue.
By simply heading over to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, you can kick-start the rollout of the Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Doing that will make your current version of Windows 10 check for updates and start downloading ‘Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803.’
Microsoft has all along availed a Windows Update Assistant tool, which you can download from its website. The tool only works if you have a licensed (genuine) copy of Windows. Head over to this webpage on Microsoft site.
Click on ‘Update Now’ button to download the tool, then run it. If you are running the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709), the Update Assistant tool will tell you to update to the version 1803, which is the latest April 2018 Update.
Like we said earlier on, there is a reason why Microsoft does not roll out the update to everyone at the same time. Some PCs will require the companyto tweak the OS for things to run smoothly. Such PCs usually get the Windows Update later than others, and if yours is such a computer and you go ahead and jump the queue, things might not run smoothly.
However, this is a stable version of Windows 10 April 2018 Update and will run a whole lot better than the beta versions in the Windows Insider Preview program.
