There is a zero-day vulnerability with Firefox browser, that hackers are already exploiting. As a Firefox user, that means you are a sitting duck, and it is just a matter of time until you get attacked.

To safeguard yourself, make sure you are running the latest version of the browser; Firefox 67.0.3 or the Firefox 60.7.1. Mozilla has already sounded the alarm that their browser if flawed by a zero-day vulnerability, which is already being exploited out there in the world wide web.

Mozilla has hence issued an emergency patch in an attempt to secure the security breach:

A type confusion vulnerability can occur when manipulating JavaScript objects due to issues in Array.pop. This can allow for an exploitable crash. We are aware of targeted attacks in the wild abusing the flaw” – said Mozilla

How to update Firefox browser

To update the browser, click on the hamburger icon located on the upper right-hand corner. Then type update in the search bar and click on Restart to update Firefox button. Alternatively, you can download a new copy from Mozilla website.

If you are already using the latest version of the browser, you should see “Congrats! You’re using the latest version of Firefox” on the Mozilla website landing page mentioned above.

Though Mozilla did not go into details with regards to exactly what the hackers were attempting to gain access to, but experts say they are after stealing cryptocurrencies. The zero-day vulnerability (bug) was unearthed by Samuel Groß fs who works with Google’s Project Zero; a security research division for Google. He is also on the security team on for Coinbase.
