Cyberbullying can have far-reaching consequences. There have been reported cases of teenagers committing suicide because someone said something about them on social media. The perpetrators commonly referred to as trolls, feel bigger by blowing off other people’s candles.

Companies and brands too are not spared by trolls; it could be your competition disguised as a random social media user or someone trolling just for the sake of it. Whatever the case, if left unchecked, trolls could make your social media experience a terrible one.

As far as Instagram goes, you now have more control over these trolls. Previously, it was you either allow comment on your posts or not allow any at all. As it worked out, if you disable comments, you will not get any; be it good or bad. Then again, if you allowed comments, it could either be good or bad.

Now Instagram has released an update giving you more control over trolls. Going forward, you can limit the comments to just specific group of people, while disabling the rest from commenting on your posts.

You could either allow just the people you follow to comment while the rest cannot. You could take it further by not allowing specific people (whether you are following them or not) from commenting on your posts.
