What Fast.com essentially does, is measure your download speed on your current network; that is the only metric that determines your video quality. There is nothing fancy to the site, in fact, it is a no-brainer where you launch the web page and immediately the site beings running test. You don’t have to click anything. The site will run its test and after a short while give you the download speed on your current ISP.
So next time you are streaming videos off Netflix, and the video quality is bad, and it keeps buffering. Don’t be quick to apportion blames; it might not be a problem with Netflix but your ISP.
