From Feb 29, Jumia has started the Electroshock, a promotion campaign seeking to spark widespread use of ICT through reducing prices. The promotion will run for seven days and will apply to thousands of electronic devices stocked by the online marketplace.

Jumia’s electroshock will apply to thousands of electronic devices stocked on the online marketplace until March 6th, 2016. This benefits will apply to all shoppers in Cote d’Ivoire; they will get benefits that have been termed as ‘Shocking Prices’ on a variety of smartphones, tablets and computers. As an icing on the cake, Jumia has partnered up with MTN to offer users the additional benefit of making payment using the MTN Mobile Money at 10% discount.

Shoppers can get the last generation smartphones from as low as 20,000 CFA francs (less than 6,605 ₦), an HP laptop for only 99,000 CFA frances (less than 32,700 ₦). Jumia promises just about anything is possible with its spectacular electroshock bonanza running from Monday, February 29 to Sunday, March 6, 2016.

So if you have been salivating over that Apple, HP, Alcatel, Lenovo or Huawei device, the Jumia’s electroshock is exactly the event you have been waiting for. The electroshock will be characterized with discounts as high as 75% off, not forgetting the additional 10% discount on every order paid using the MTN Mobile Money.

However, you might be interested that Jumia is getting quite social with its customers. Starting last week, people have been winning free iPads, iPhones, Alcatel, Samsung and Huawei devices by engaging Jumia on its Facebook page.

Our goal is really to create an exceptional annual event, which grants our customers, a privileged and cheaper access to ICT’s. After the electroshock shopping spree passes, Jumia will still have five flash sales to entice the customers. Take, for instance, the Huawei Y6 smartphone will be listed for a few minutes retailing at 13,800 CFA Francs (4,557 ₦) from as high as 89,000 CFA Francs as at last Friday.
