Kwesé TV partners with Safaricom to deliver Video on Demand to Kenyans

Kwesé TV, Econet Media’s multi-platform Pay TV network, has secured a partnership with Kenya’s leading telecom Safaricom. To deliver video on demand content to Kenyans over the telecom’s fast 4G network; Safaricom is currently the only telecom in Kenya with the 4G network license.

This partnership will enable Safaricom subscribers to access Kwesé TV video content through negotiated innovative data bundles. Some of the video content viewers will get from Kwesé TV include exclusives such as the NBA basketball, EPL live coverage, Brazilian football matches, Revolt TV, VICELAND, and lifestyle and music shows.

The Consumer Business Director at Safaricom, Sylvia Mulinge said, “Our aim is to enhance our customer experience and deliver solutions that meet their unique needs. Video content is the future of mobile, and our partnership with Kwesé will enable us to deliver some of the best international and local video content. This is a powerful partnership, which will greatly benefit our customers and have a positive impact on the local industry.”

Viewers will have access to Kwesé TV videos through the dedicated video data packages on the Safaricom network. Payments for the video streamed can be made via the telecom’s mobile money wallet M-Pesa. The option for making payment to Kwesé TV video will be made available on M-Pesa soon.
