Lenovo Launches Stunning 2-in-1 ThinkPad Laptop Series #CES2016

As we predicted earlier, there are going to be more imitation of the Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2-in-1 computers. Lenovo launched three new ThinkPad series at the ongoing CES 2016, and by extension showcased Lenovo’s rendition of Microsoft’s 2-in-1 computers mimicking the Surface Pro 3/4 hybrid tablets.

ThinkPad X1 Tablet

The ThinkPad X1 Tablet comes with a 12-inch display that has a 2,160×1,440 resolutions. It runs on a 6th-Gen Intel Core M7 VPro Chip. It can be fitted with a RAM to the tune of 16GB and internal storage also to the tune of 1TB via a PCie NVMe SSD. All that storage and power are tucked inside a 0.33-inch thick body.

The ThinkPad X1 Tablet differentiates in three modular add-ons:

A Productivity Module ($149) that will give you an additional five-hour battery life plus HDMI and onelink+ port.

A Presenter Module ($279) that will give you a projector that can give off 60-inch projection when placed 6-and-a-half feet away.

3D Imaging Module ($149) that will have Intel RealSense 3D camera for your graphic designing needs or 3D printing needs.

Like most ThinkPads, the X1 Tablet also has keyboard fitted with mouse click buttons right onto of the trackpad and the red TrackPoint mouse nub. The ThinkPad X1 Tablet will be available from February going forward, and will start retailing at $899.

ThinkPad X1 Yoga

The 14-inched ThinkPad X1 Yoga is the first convertible laptop to be fitted with an OLED display. Something that gives the laptop an incredible wider viewing angle with deep blacks and accurate colors. The display is also a touchscreen that can be configured into either 1,920×1,080 or 2,560×1,440 resolutions. The ThinkPad X1 Yoga’s display can bend all the way (360-degrees) backward transforming into a tablet.

ThinkPad X1 Yoga is running on the 6th-Gen Intel Core i7 vPro Processor, has RAM of up to 16GB and storage to a maximum of 1TB of PCie NVMe SSD and the Intel Graphics HD520.

It also features three USB 3.0, HDMI, MiniDP, Ethernet jack, MicroSD card slot and headphone jack. There is also an optional Stylus Pen being sold separately. The ThinkPad X1 Yoga will start retailing this month from $1,449.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon

Lenovo also unveiled the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, unlike the predecessor model. This one is much thinner and lighter, weighing in at 2.26 pounds and thickest area measuring 0.65-inches. It has a 14-inch display that has the option of a 1,920×1,080 resolutions or 2,560×1,440 resolutions. Both options have 300 nits of brightness.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon just like the X1 Yoga is targeting the business community; although the X1 Carbon has better specs compared to the X1 Yoga. Under the hood, it tucks the 6th-Gen Intel Core i7 vPro Processor, 16GB RAM 1TB PCie NVMe SSD, and Intel HD Graphics HD520.

However, it does have the same number of ports as the X1 Yoga, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, MicroSD Card slot, MiniDP, Ethernet jack and headphone jack. Lenovo says the laptop can run up to 11 hours on single charge, and comes with Windows 10 Pro. It will be available for sale starting February from $1,299.
