Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 Release Date, Specs, and Price plus Rumored Surface Pen

We are now down to counting just weeks to the year 2017; less than three weeks to be precise. Already, rumors abound that the Redmond tech giant, Microsoft, is already gearing up for major releases next year. One of which, is the Microsoft Surface Phone rumored to have a Surface Pen.

Unlike any of its predecessor, the 2017 Microsoft Surface Phone could have a Surface Pen. The assertions of a pen come from an apparent Microsoft Patent leaked by a trademark and intellectual property specialist Patently Mobile as reported by Express.

From this leak, experts conclude that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone will be similar to its predecessor Lumia models in as far as shape and design goes. However, this one’s design, as per the reported patent leak, has a circular port. Just the right size and fit for one to assume it will be for holding a stylus pen.

If the leakage turns out to be true, you can expect the 2017 Microsoft Surface Phone to offer users more functionality. Functions including but not limited to, users having the ability to draw and write on the Surface Phone.

Again, according to the rumors, the 2017 Surface Phone will be more powerful than its predecessors. It is rumored to run on the latest Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 835. The phone will have the 64-bit Windows 10 Mobile OS.

Although Microsoft has yet to make any official announcement about when the Surface Phone will be released. Industry watchers are putting it somewhere within the mid of 2017, and the base model will start at $699 going up to around $1,100 for the high-end model. Skepticisms about the Surface Phone rumors

There are sources, such as MS Power User, who are skeptic about the leaked patent information being of a new Microsoft Surface Phone. In fact, they believe the leaked patent is for a previous Lumia phone that just was approved recently. That would explain, why the design bears a striking resemblance to the previous Lumia line of Microsoft smartphones.
