Motorola’s new entry-level smartphones; Moto C and Moto C Plus review

When it comes to entry level smartphones market, Motorola has been a heavy weight registering a lot of success. You only need to look at its earlier devices; the Moto G followed by Moto E.

For the year 2017, Motorola is fielding yet another affordable smartphone in the entry-level smartphones space; the Moto C and Moto C Plus, the company’s first devices in that range.

The Specs on Moto C and Moto C Plus

First things first, these smartphone come in black, red, silver, and gold color option. The Moto C dimensions are 143.9x72x10mm while the Moto C Plus is 145.5×73.5×9.1mm. They all run Android Nougat out of the box and have a 5-inch display with the Moto C packing 854×480 pixels and the C Plus packs 1280×720.

Both smartphones run on the MediaTech chipset. The Moto C comes in 3G and 4G version; with the former running on 32-bit quad-core SoC clocking at 1.3GHz and the latter running on 64-bit quad-core chip clocking at 1.1 GHz. The Moto C Plus has a 64-bit chip clocking at 1.3 GHz.

While all the three devices have expandable memory slot, the Moto C comes in variant of either 8GB or 16GB internal storage, while the Moto C Plus has 16GB. As for the RAM, the Moto C has 1GB RAM, while the Moto C Plus comes in variant of 1GB or 2GB RAM subject to the market.

For your selfie-needs. The three devices come with a 2MP front-camera with flash. As for the rear camera, the Moto C has a 5MP sensor at the back, and Moto C Plus has an 8MP snapper. The Moto C is powered by a 2,350mAh battery and Moto C Plus has 4,000mAh.
