This year at AfricaCom, world leader in communications technology and services, Ericsson, will be showcasing future-shaping demos that will help operators improve network performance, expand revenue streams and enhance the customer experience. AfricaCom, the continent’s premier ICT conference starts on Tuesday, November 11 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Cape Town, South Africa.

Fredrik Jejdling, Head of Region Sub-Saharan Africa at Ericsson, will deliver a keynote presentation on shifting to a data-focused strategy on Wednesday, November 12 at 09:00. In addition, Hans Piet, Head of Engagement Practices for Mobile Broadband at Ericsson in in Region Sub-Saharan Africa, will speak at a master class on delivering broadband to Africa and Shiletsi Makhofane, Head of Government and Industry Relations in Region Sub-Saharan Africa will join a panel in discussing how to increase coverage cost-effectively in remote areas.

From 11 to 13 November, visitors to Ericsson’s exhibition located at stand E1 in the main hall of the convention center will meet with subject matter experts who will help them navigate the future of the Networked Society as they explore the following: High Performance Networks At AfricaCom, Ericsson will demo the Radio Dot System highlighting how operators can grow their enterprise business with an innovative in-building architecture that delivers high-performance mobile coverage.

With research showing that by 2050, cities, which only account for 1 percent of the total area of the planet, will hold 70 percent of the world’s population; operators are keen to upgrade and maintain the integrity of their networks to support the growing pressure. Ericsson will also be showcasing how operators in sub-Saharan Africa can stay ahead of this rising push for new ways of innovating, collaborating and socializing with models and demos of solutions such as the City Site solution, Zero Site and the Capsule Site amidst various other network performance enhancing demos.

Driving Revenue Growth

At the exhibition, there will be a demonstration of LTE Broadcast for Digital Signage which allows mobile operators to deliver advertising or entertainment to a broad number of screens cost-effectively, enabling real-time dynamic updates of billboards, taxi and elevator
screens, and public venue display. Ericsson will also show how it is enabling TV Anywhere by revolutionizing Pay TV with a fresh, dynamic, visually-rich consumer experience that is intuitive and consistent across all screens, with significant cost and operational efficiencies.

Enhancing Customer Experience

In an increasingly Networked Society in which almost everyone and everything is connected, network operators are under mounting pressure to maintain quality of service, differentiate themselves from the competition and promote end-user loyalty. Frontrunners in the telecommunications industries are highly aware that improving the users’ customer experience is key to securing user loyalty in today’s hypercompetitive market environment.
