Nigeria going High Tech to secure its borders

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, has announced that it will employ modern technology in making its borders secure. Abdulrahman made this much known, during his visit to the Illela border post in Sokoto on Monday, Jan 11.

Abdulrahman said, “We will deploy intelligence, modern tools and technologies to detect and analyze movements along the Nation’s borders.

The Federal Government is also committed to stopping smuggling of arms, drugs and human trafficking.”

The Minister said that securing the lives and property of all Nigerians, including the ones living at the borders and the hinterland is a top priority for the Government. The Ministers however, fell short of mentioning exactly what type of technologies will be employed in securing Nigerian borders. But he said once these technologies have been deployed, criminal activities along Nigerian borders will drastically go down.
