Nigerian Doctors separate conjoined twins in Abuja hospital

A Nigerian team of doctors has successfully separated conjoined twins at a hospital in the capital, Abuja.

The team was led by Dr. Nuhu Kwajafa, a member of the Global Peace Initiative. The twin (two boys) were born in June this year and at the time, doctors were of the opinion that they could not undertake surgery and recommended they wait until they are four months old.

Dr. Kwajafa confirmed the operation, which took them several hours, was a success. The operations was done at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada.
