Nigeria’s drone startup Arone raises $6K in Angel Funding

Nigeria Arone

The Nigeria-based drone startup Arone has secured NGN2 million ($6,000) angel funding to kick-start hardware investment and the prototyping of their business idea.

Arone intends to set up a network of charging stations where the drones in Nigeria will be making a stop to recharge. Thus the drones can increase their uptime and speed of delivery. The startup secured funding from the following angel investors:

Chibuzo Ujam

Echukwudi Daniel

Arone became the first startup to secure funding from the recently established Roar Nigeria, a new incubator in southeast Nigeria. The incubator was launched in 2016, which has now assisted 12 startups.

Arone has world-class technical ideas and knowledge, and their drone idea is one of those golden nuggets you seldom see,” said Jonas Michanek, the external incubator manager at Roar Nigeria.

So smart, still relatively simple to understand, and with a huge need in the market. I have no doubt that these guys will create ground-breaking things.”
