Uber has just made good its announcement made back in June 2016, its plan to launch a food ordering service, UberEATS in Africa (South Africa).

UberEATS is now available in Cape Town, making the city the 60th city in the world where UberEATS is live. Johannesburg was the first city in South Africa to have the Uber-backed food ordering service. The service has been available in Jo’burg since September 2016.

What is UberEATS?

UberEATS is your Uber for food; you take your smartphone, and order for favorite meals from the enlisted restaurants. Some of the best-known restaurants in Cape Town that have already enlisted include Nu, Gourmet Burger & Ribs, Truth Coffee Roasting, Crumbs and Cream, Bacini’s, and Gibsons. The food gets delivered right to your office or home. UberEATS promises to deliver to the residents of Cape Town the best dishes from some of the best restaurants in that city. All a user has got to do is few taps on your screen, and have hot meals delivered right to your doorsteps.

If you have used Uber app, then you will have no trouble find your way around using the UberEATS app. Ordering your meals is as simple as requesting for an Uber ride on your phone.

How to use UberEATS

Go to your respective app store and download the Then head to Ubereats.com and sign up for a new account. You could also use your Uber login details to log in.

Input your home, work address or the address of any other place you would like the food to be delivered.

From this point on, you can search for your favorite restaurant and the dish you will want to eat.

Pay for the food using your card and wait for delivery to your doorstep.
