Onyeka Akumah Invests In Waracake As Waracake Launches Their Platform’s Second Version

Former Wakanow, Jumia and Konga executive, Mr. Onyeka Akumah, who recently invested an undisclosed amount in Waracake, has joined the Nigerian e-commerce startup Waracake as an Advisor.

Onyeka, worked with Wakanow as an online marketing manager, later joined Jumia as the Director of Marketing and Partnerships and Konga as the Vice-President of Marketing.

According to Waracake’s CEO, Olatunde Ayilara, “Onyeka brings a deep wealth of marketing and customer acquisition experience to Waracake. Having successfully built several Internet marketing businesses with some of the most successful start-ups in Nigeria. Onyeka’s e-commerce experience comes handy to the team as we build Waracake into Africa’s leading gifting platform.”

Waracake is an online marketplace for independent bakers and confectionary makers. Waracake makes it easy for customers to purchase from a wide collection of cakes and have them delivered to any location. Waracake, originally launched in Lagos and Abuja in February 2015, has successfully extended operations to Ogun, Oyo, Edo and Osun.
