It has been barely a week since Microsoft launched a surprise laptop that doubles up as a tablet dubbed the Surface Book. The device is retailing quite expensively with the most affordable version starting at $1,499.
Microsoft Surface Pro line devices have always been tablets, which when fitted with keyboards can pass off as a laptop albeit less powerful laptops. But the Surface Book is a full-fledged powerful laptop with a detachable keyboard. When the keyboard is detached the Surface Book transforms into a 13 inched gigantic tablet.
Although, the Surface Book has not yet been officially launched in the market, it has been available for pre orders at Microsoft online store. Barely a week since its announcement, Microsoft already says it has run out of stock from the pre orders of the Surface Book. However, the Redmond Company says you can still buy the Surface Book from online marketplace Amazon.
As to just how many of these devices were up for pre orders at the Microsoft online store remains hidden. There number could be in their tens, hundreds or even thousands, but the general public has not been privy to that information. It could be a ploy by the Company to showcase their latest hardware to be a must have device by creating the illusion of artificial shortage and thus spike up the demand. Such an act could only mean more profit for the company.
Nonetheless, Microsoft has indeed lately undone itself by making smartphones that doubles up as tablets, tablets that doubles up as laptops, and laptops that doubles up as tablets. At the same time, all these Microsoft use the same operating system; Windows 10, so as a user you always get a seamless experience across all the Windows devices.
