At the end of 2018, Qualcomm announced the world’s first 7-nm based chip, the Snapdragon 8cx, set to power the Always-Connected PCs. Early this year, the company upped its offering and announced the Snapdragon 8cx 5G, which is the only commercially available 5G PC platform worldwide.

The launch date is now set, and Qualcomm wants to launch the world’s first 5G Windows 10 PC at the Computex 2019 conference. The device will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G platform.

The 8cx architecture is tailor-made for PCs and promises greater performances, battery life that runs multiple days on single charge, and giga-bit LTE connectivity. The 8cx chip also comes with the Adreno 680 GPU, which has twice the graphics power while running at 60% power efficiency compared to the Snapdragon 850.

It also supports dual 4K HDR external monitors natively and runs twice as fast as an Intel Core chip with similar specs. Qualcomm will also give the device a Quick Charge 4 and Aqstic audio technology to the 8cx.
