Quick Review of the Honor 5X Launched Yesterday In India The #NoNonsensePhones

During the recently concluded CES Las Vegas conference, Huawei unveiled the Honor 5X smartphone. This phone has features in the range of high-end smartphone but at a price that will not break your wallet. For only $200, you can be the proud owner of a phone that in a summary packs:

5-inch display with a 1,920×1,80 pixel resolution

5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor

Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1

13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera

Gigantuous 3,000mAh battery

DualSIM Card with both SIMs supporting the 4G LTE connection

It has a fingerprint scanner on the rear.

Well, the above were the specs Huawei made public at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas. On Thursday, January 28, Huawei launched the Honor Holly 2 Plus and Honor 5X smartphone in the Indian market. The Holly 2 Plus goes for Rs.8,499, and the Holly 5X is going for Rs.12,999.

The Holly 2 Plus smartphone is clearly targeting the very price conscience consumers in the market. While the Holly 5X albeit still a pocket-friendly smartphone, bridges the features divide between those who can afford a high-end smartphone and those who sacrifice rich features by going for the more affordable smartphones. I say this because the Holly 5X gives you just about all the smart features found in most high-end smartphones at a very pocket-friendly price.

First the Honor 5X is shatterproof, much like the Moto X-Force but at a fraction of the price. Huawei had put out a video demonstrating the phone being battered by 50kgs force and did not shatter. The phone is also housed in virtually all metallic body, except for the top and bottom ends for a better antenna reception. It also has a curvy body shape to prevent it from accidentally slipping from your hand and is also incredibly slim and light.Quick Review of the Honor 5X Launched Yesterday In India The #NoNonsensePhones

1.5GHz octa-core process + 2GB RAM runs heavy/numerous apps without lags

Its 5.5 inch FullHD display has a 403 ppi pixel density, meaning watching videos on this phone is going to be quite rewarding. To support the 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processors, is a 2GB RAM. That means you can run heavy applications or numerous applications simultaneously without experiencing lags.Quick Review of the Honor 5X Launched Yesterday In India The #NoNonsensePhones

Nano-SIM, Micro-SIM and MicroSD Card Slots

For your documents, music and videos files storage needs, the Honor 5X gives you a decent 16GM onboard storage that can be further expanded to 128GB via a microSD card. It is a DualSIM standby phone and comes with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box; with the Emotion UI (EMUI) 3.1. Words of this phone being upgradable to the latest Android 6 Marshmallow is also being thrown around.
