The Razer Blade Pro Review; Desktop-Class Graphics in a thin portable Laptop

When it comes to serious gaming, photo, and video editing. Very few laptops out there in the market can satisfy the demands enthusiasts and power users’ wants from a laptop. So most are forced to restrict themselves to the stationary desktop with specs that meet the needs. Well, Razer Blade Pro gives you desktop-class graphics in a thin and portable laptop.

Razer has already made a name for itself when it comes to premium gaming laptops, but with the soon-to-be-released Razer Blade Pro. The brand is upping the ante to a whole new level;

much to the satisfaction of gaming enthusiast and photo/video editing power users looking for mobility and performance.

It comes with the graphics overkill, the Nvidia GTX 1080, all tucked inside the thin (one-inched) Blade Pro. Needless to say, this monstrous hardware will drive up the price tag on the machine. Brace yourself, the Razer Blade Pro base model starts at $3,699.

Yaicks! Right? No wonder Razer product manager, Kevin Sather, had to follow up that price announcement with, “It’s definitely not for everybody. It’s for people who need to get the most out of a PC.”

For the $3,699 Razer Blade Pro laptop, here is what you’ll get

A 17.3-inch 3840×2160 pixel resolution touchscreen display with G-Sync.

6th Gen Intel Quad-Core i7 chip

32GB RAM

PCIe SSD storage in RAID-O in variants of 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 (comes with 8GB GDDR5X VRAM)

A mechanical keyboard

Aluminum chassis with a body dimension of 16.7×0.9×11 inches

Weighing 3.5 Kgs (7.8 lbs.)

A 99 Wh battery (maximum portable battery capacity you’re allowed to bring with you on a plane)

USB Type-C, 3 USB, Thunderbolt 3 and a 3.5mm headset jack

VR-ready

Compared to its predecessors, the Razer Blade Pro is a mammoth in just about everything; some aspects such as RAM, storage and screen resolution is actually double its predecessor’s specs.

You still can’t get passed the $3,699 price tag on this beast? Well, here is a fresh outlook! Most of the laptops that can replace your desktop with such heavy specs cost more than the Blade Pro.

You might have missed it up there, but this laptop (17-inched and all) comes with a touchscreen baby! One that displays 100% of Adobe RGB color gamut. So power users needing photos and videos editing will find it particularly satisfying.

If you love the mechanical keyboard on your desktop PC, who doesn’t? You will not miss it while using the Blade Pro, as it comes with Razer’s new low-profile mechanical switches mimicking the feel and touch of the full-sized mechanical keyboard.

Don’t forget it is also VR-ready; well actually, the specs on the Razer Blade Pro exceeds the requirement for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. Purchasing this beast will have you ready all type of laptop computing pleasures and work-related tasks.
