Why You Should Start a Podcast in 2020

What’s old always becomes new again. It’s really that simple.

Most of us who want fame, money and presence online try one of the following content strategies

Pictures (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook)

Text (Websites, Blogs, Twitter)

Video (YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat)

But we mostly miss something with explosive potential: Audio.

Yes, audio is making a strong comeback and is expected to only grow in the future.

According to the 2019 Infinite Dial Study by Edison Research and Triton Digital, at least 90 million people in the U.S listen to at least one podcast every month.

Here are some of the top reasons why audio is the future and why you should get serious about it:

People don’t have time. They want to listen to something good (forget songs) while commuting.

Rise of smart home devices. With mini speakers around us, people want to listen to some good content. Amazon Alex is currently owned by over 100 million people. Google has sold over 52 million of its Home devices. Imagine the potential.

According to Nielsen, over 272 million Americans listen to radio. Radio’s reach is more than any other medium, including TV and smartphone.

Over 52 million Americans have cars that are equipped with Bluetooth. All you need is to sync your smartphone with your car, play your favorite podcast and roll.

Why do I think audio is the biggest opportunity?

The main reason is the room for growth.

Podcasting is a relatively recent phenomena.

Over 65% of the Americans who listen to podcasts started doing so in the last 3 years.

Start now and reap the rewards in the near future. There’s no saturation in the audio market.
