Ringier Africa continues to show strong growth in revenue and traffic in the third quarter of 2015. With nearly 300 employees in five countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Ringier runs thirteen classifieds, content and ecommerce platforms as well as digital marketing agencies. On a year-on-year comparison, its revenue from January to September has increased by 270 per cent compared to the first three quarters in 2014. Traffic increased in this period by 64 per cent.

In the third quarter of 2015, Ringier has further established its position as one of the leading digital players in Africa through partnerships with Visa, Orange and Firefox OS, certifying their agency model by Google and announcing an exclusive license for the Employability Platform AMCAT in Sub-Saharan Africa, now integrated on the classifieds platform ZoomTanzania.

The content platforms in West Africa are establishing themselves as the largest and most relevant news and entertainment sites in their respective markets: Pulse Ghana is now the most-read mobile news site in the country and Pulse Nigeria just reached its millionth Facebook fan in August.

In Senegal the real estate marketplace MaMaison, founded in the beginning of the year, is now established as the number one platform of its kind in Senegal growing over 50 per cent quarter-on-quarter.

The Kenyan e-commerce platform Rupu re-launched in August on a world-renowned Magento framework, adding scalability to East Africa’s largest online deals site.

Ringier’s 360-degree digital marketing agency Ringier Digital Media (RDM) was able to sign new clients like Nike, Zenith Bank and Southern Comfort. Since August, RDM is a certified Google partner.

Julian Artopé, Director Ringier Africa: “We are very happy with the traction we see in Africa across all markets. Coming from an already solid position last year, the growth of the past months is testament to the large potential that the African continent still holds and further boosts our position as one of Africa’s largest digital players.”

Ringier Africa’s goal is to develop its present platforms further in terms of growth and innovation, establishing a market-leading portfolio and a continent-spanning presence in Africa.
