SA Startups, $4,000 Is Up For Grabs At The Silicon Cape’s #PitchVinny Event

South African startups in Cape Town can now apply for the Silicon Cape event and stand a chance to walk away with $4,000 seed funding.

The event under the #PitchVinnly has been made possible by Silicon Cape’s co-founder Vinny Lingham, a serial investor in various tech startups and Internet entrepreneurship in Africa.

I’m focusing on the startups that can really become billion dollars businesses. If I’m going to take a risk, I might as well bet on high upside companies, even if they have high-risk,” said Vinny.

Vinny is popularly known as the co-founder and former CEO of Yola, Inc. a private company dealing with web building and hosting services. He reported he had invested more than $415,000 out of his pocket into various startups in South Africa.

Cape Town startups looking to apply for this seed funding opportunity have until August 10th to do so. Once the application windows close, the applicants will undergo vetting and those selected will be notified by August 12. The main event will happen on Monday, August 17th, 2015.
