That Samsung could use a break is no secret, especially after its last flagship smartphone, failed to impress. Well, that is a bit of understatement, as the phone was a walking time bomb. You would be lucky get passed airport security without the authorities taking you aside for questions. And it is for these reasons that the Samsung Galaxy S8 must impress!
The Samsung brand public image has certainly taken a nose dive, and we expect the South Korean tech giant to all out on its next flagship smartphone. If the rumors doing rounds on the internet are anything to go by, it would appear Samsung has done just that; gone all out, bringing all big guns blazing.
The rumor mills have it the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with a massive 6GB RAM up from the 4GB RAM found on the predecessor the Galaxy S7. To match the big RAM, the S8 is also rumored will come with 256GB internal storage, but we also expect other variants, even though there has been no word on that.
As usual with Samsung’s history, the phones always come with a microSD slot for memory expansion. Then again with 256GB onboard storage, will you need a memory expansion? It is a smartphone, after all, not your computer. But hey, if you must have all your multimedia files, movies, two years worth of MP3 files, then the S8 has got you covered and backed by a microSD card.
Other features being rumored include an optical fingerprint sensor, pressure sensitive display, improved camera, and it will come in two screen options; 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch. It also rumored that it will be a bezel-less 4k (2160×3840 pixels) Super AMOLED display with an 806ppi.
It will also come with Samsung’s Exynos 8895 SoC to back up that 6GB RAM. As for when to expect the Samsung Galaxy S8? Rumor has it during the MWC 2017 set to take place Feb 26 in Barcelona.
