Samsung Launches New Smartphones: The Galaxy A-Series And The Galaxy E-Series
While North Korea was allegedly busy messing up with Sony Pictures and giving the US reasons to pick a fight, South Korea was busy working on giving the world more reasons to love it. Once again, Samsung, the South Korean electronics manufacturing giant has given you one more item to add on your shopping lists for your new year’s resolutions must-have items.
The giant electronics manufacturer has just unveiled its latest smartphones to enter the market: the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7. Samsung chose India to unveil its new smartphones; given the impressive 2014 run the Samsung Mobile India division had.
The Galaxy A series comes packed inside a metallic unibody design while the Galaxy E series has maintained the normal plastic build. Samsung says that the Galaxy A series is targeting the high-end consumers with a little bit more cash to spend while the Galaxy E series is targeting the younger probably college students consumer market. But enough with the money talk, let’s look under the hood of both the Galaxy A series and Galaxy E series smartphones:
Samsung Galaxy A5
The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 system-on-chip quad processor clocking at 1.2GHz, backed by a 2GB RAM. It also has a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display firmly putting it in the class of phablets. To address your files storage, the Galaxy A5 gives you 16GB internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card up to 64GB. The phone weighs 123 grams and is about 6.7mm thin. It’s a dual SIM smartphone and powered by a 2,300mAh battery that when coupled with its ultra power saving mode can give you impressive time between successive recharges.
Samsung Galaxy A3
Samsung Galaxy A3 has the same processor and internal storage as the Samsung Galaxy A5 but with a 1GB RAM. It weighs about 110grams and is powered by a 1,900 mAh battery. It is also a dual SIM smartphone and can support both 2G and 3G bands.
Samsung Galaxy E7
With a plastic build, the Galaxy E series looks much similar like the rest of Samsung’s old plastic-build smartphones. The Galaxy E7 has a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, thus making it to the phablets category. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and a 2GB RAM. It has a 5MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. It about 7.3mm thick and also supports dual SIM.
Samsung Galaxy E5
The Galaxy E5 display, processor and front facing camera properties resemble that of the Galaxy E7. The only exceptions are; Display 5-inch, 1.5GB RAM, 8MP rear. The Galaxy E series are both 7.3mm thick and supports dual SIM.

Both the Galaxy A series and Galaxy E series come with Android 4.4 KitKat OS and the Samsung TouchWiz UI. Samsung has also made efforts to enrich your selfie experience with features like Wide selfie, rear-cam selfie, animated GIF and also the beautification mode. All of these phones will be on the shelves in India starting today.
