Santa Monica marks One Year Anniversary of God of War with freebies on PS Store

If you have walked the journey of Kratos and his son Aterus on the PS4 title God of War, you should be interested to know that the game is marking its one year anniversary since release.

To mark the special anniversary, Sony is gifting PS4 gamers with free new amazing dynamic themes of their consoles. Sony and the Santa Monica Studios will be holding a week-long one-year anniversary celebration, and as a fan, you can head on to PlayStation store for freebies.

One of the freebies is a free God of War inspired PS4 them; that you can download right now from the PlayStation Store. That will be followed up by a special God of War Avatar, which will be released on Wednesday, April 17.

It’s not a must you purchased God of War

Sony is availing the theme and avatar to all God of War fan; even those who don’t own a copy of the game.

In honor of you, our fans, we’re starting a week-long celebration of the one-year anniversary of this God of War,” reads in part a statement by Sony Santa Monica.

I’m very happy to indulge you with a small token of our appreciation. We’ve crafted a fantastic God of War Anniversary character PS4 avatar set that will be available free this Wednesday, and a PS4 dynamic theme available right now that will bring you back to serenity with Kratos and Atreus in the Lake of Nine.

They’ll both be free at PlayStation Store (search God of War), whether you own the game or not.”

The anniversay also marks the 20th year since Sony Santa Monica studio was formed. Other than the God of War series, the studio has, in collaboration with other developers, delivered other great titles for PS4, PS3, PS2, and Vita games.

Some of the previous great titles from Sony Santa Monica include Twisted Metal, The Order: 1886, Fat Princess, and Warhawk. However, the studio’s most successful title so far remains the God of War series, and fans are eager for the next sequel as we wait for PS5.
