She Loves Tech, the global startup competition showcasing cutting edge technology, entrepreneurship, innovation, and the opportunities it creates for women empowerment. The competition is currently enrolling its next cohort of 500 women impact and women-led startups from around the globe. In order to empower them through an interconnected global network of like-minded entrepreneurs, innovators, mentors, and investors.
The competition is currently receiving applications from startups around the globe, and for the first time, East Africa region is included. That means promising startups with at least one female founder are invited to apply to the competition.
The 2018 She Loves Tech edition is happening across 14 countries including, South Africa, Singapore, Philippines, Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia, Germany, France, China, Canada, the UAE, and Kenya.
The East Africa leg of the competition has already begun receiving application, and the main pitch day is slated for July 14th at the Nairobi Garage. Winners of the local round will get a free trip to Beijing, China where they will get to meet the other winners from various world regions at the International Conference slated for September 15, 2018. They will also get to attend a high-level boot camp, where they will get to meet Chinese leading tech companies.
Prizes and Packs up for grabs
She Loves Tech’s network of venture capital funds including Teja Ventures will be actively looking for the top startups from this competition in whom they can invest. The startups also stand a chance to win a Startup Booster Pack, which consists of exclusive mentorship from seasoned VCs and industry experts.
They will also get access to consultancy services from China in matters entailing; IP protection, legal, financial, and HR advise, product and technology development among others. They will also take part in the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology’s (SWITCH) Women in Tech Conference. They will also benefit from fast-tracked entry into partnership programs, workspaces, and media exposure.
