The SingularityU Global Impact Challenge is particularly keen on identifying startups with solutions that can impact at least a billion people worldwide over the next ten years.

The challenge is open to all startups (founded by residents and citizens) within the West African region. While the challenge is inclined on discovering the best startups with solutions that address climate change, impressive innovations in other areas too will be considered.

The winner of the challenge will be announced on April 24, 2017. They will proceed to the next stage and take part in the Global Solutions Program (GSP) at the Singularity University at no charge. The GSP program kicks off on June 7 to August 17, 2017, on the SU campus in Silicon Valley at the NASA Research Park.

When the program winds up, the winner will be expected to return to their country and establish their innovative project on a wider scale. They will continue to enjoy support from the SingularityU Global Impact Challenge alumni network and mentors residing in and around West Africa. The unsuccessful finalist will also benefit from the network of alumni and mentors to assist them to grow their projects.
