Switchless a South Africa-based bitcoin software firm is expanding BitX bitcoin exchange services into the Kenyan and Nigerian market. The move into Kenya and Nigeria is part of the firm’s long term goal of availing its bitcoin exchange services throughout Africa.

BitX will enable Kenyans and Nigerians to store, spend and receive Bitcoin as well as enable users create free digital wallets fast. It will also enable merchant integration that will effectively allow businesses to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment for goods and services offered. BitX has also been launched in Namibia among other countries around the globe.

Switchless says it will provide a fast sign-up that has an easy to use interface supported by a dedicated team of customer service. The firm affirms that its technology is bank-tested with physical access controls coupled with strong encryptions. It also assures users that its local wallets and exchanges are part of a trusted global network.

The Kenyan market is currently being served by BitPesa and Kipochi. Therefore, Switchless has already has its work cut out in terms of acquiring a market share from the earlier launched Bitcoin firms.
