How To Speed Up Your Android Smartphone/Tablet By Disabling Animations

When you first get your hands on an Android smartphone/tablet, the animations when swiping the screen, switching between apps and running programs are pretty nice. But after a while the excitement about this pretty animation wears off, and you start becoming more interested in hurrying things up and not wasting time.

Well, one way you can make your Android smartphone/tablet run faster is by reducing animations or completely disabling them. Once done, you will instantly notice an increased speed of performance on your smartphone. Though at first you won’t really feel that animations are slowing you down but after waiting for them, over and over again; on a daily basis, it soon start feeling silly.

Today Innov8tiv will walk you through on how to speed up your Android device. Please note the guide below is only applicable to Android 4.x to Android 5.0.

Step 1: Go to ‘Settings’ and scroll down to the very bottom. Tap ‘About Phone/About Tablet’ and scroll down to the very bottom.

Step 2: Tap on ‘Build number’ seven times (if it’s the first time you’re doing this) until you get a notification telling you’re now a developer.

Step 3: Tap the back button and tap ‘Developer options’. It will have now appeared on top of ‘About phone’. Slide the ‘Developer options’ slider and then scroll down where you’ll see ‘Window animation scale’, ‘Transition animation scale’ and ‘Animator duration scale’ options.

Step 4: To completely disable animation select ‘Animation off’. To make the animation work twice as fast select ‘Animation scale .5x
