The Norwegian Katapult Accelerator program has announced its list of top 12 exponential tech startups that will be taking part in its next cohort of acceleration program that will run for three months. And the continent of Africa will be represented by startups from Egypt, Tunisia, and Kenya who made the cut.

The selected 12 startups will work with experts from Katapult Accelerator in addition to networking with over 120 international mentors to scale their various businesses.

The three African startups are:

FinAccess – a Kenya-based cloud-backed banking system
PraxiLabs – an Egyptian low-immersion VR science labs

Think.iT – Tunisian startup that helps companies build top-notch engineering team through investing in the North African future tech leaders

The selected 12 startups will from August to November be taking a dynamic, hands-on course on how to scale their businesses. Katapult Accelerator boasts of providing a multi-national team of mentors, investors, and business partners who can open the right doors to the startup in their quest to grow and reach specific markets.

The accelerator will invest $150,000 into each of the startups as equity funding. Haakon Brunell, the co-founder and managing partner of Katapult Accelerator said:

After reviewing candidates from 107 countries, we were humbled with the interest from companies globally who were keen to join our program. We have the chance to select our third batch from over 1500 companies, and we’re excited to welcome the third cohort on this journey.

We provide the startups, whose focus is to drive global positive change with the use of exponential technologies, an environment of opportunities and an ecosystem to enhance their business model and scale. Our goal for each company is to prepare them for their next investment round so that they achieve two to three times their original valuation, a track record we aim to keep.”
