YouTube has grown from being a simple video hosting and sharing site to somewhere people can make careers. It provides countless hours of entertainment in every genre and for every age group. The whole website has become a community of its own over the years.

We’ve seen people go from making videos in their bedroom to becoming big names in the entertainment industry, thanks to YouTube. Even celebrities like Justin Bieber were found on YouTube.

But, the issue is that not everybody knows how to take full advantage of all the features YouTube offers its creators. There are a plethora of things that the YouTube video editor allows you to do in your videos that improve the interactivity your viewers have with your content.

What Are Youtube End Screens?

An end screen or an end card is a YouTube feature that allows for a 5-20 second interactive screen to appear at the end of a video. On this screen, a creator can link their previous videos, playlists, a link to their website or merchandise shop. And for doing this, you can choose the best video maker available in the market.

Why Is This Important?

So, you might be wondering what is the importance of this screen. The simple answer is that it helps improve traffic and adds a new level of interaction between your viewers and your content. This is done by eliminating the thought of what to do next after a video ends.

Before, once a video ended, the viewer had an option to either manually find another video of yours,  or click on something else from the suggested video sidebar. They could also head back to YouTube’s homepage. Now, with the introduction of this feature, the viewer is given a choice to watch another one of your videos, subscribe, or even check out your channel.

Tips to Remember

Always add only three elements to your end screen, so it doesn’t look cluttered.

You can add two video or playlist elements for promotion.

Always remember that an end screen by default takes up the last 20 seconds of your video. You can adjust the duration manually. However, try to extend your videos by 10 seconds so as not to cover up essential parts of the video.
