When it comes to scholarship applications, the easiest platform to search for one is on the internet. However, there are probably thousands of scholarships opportunities out there, but most of them are far from being genuine. Albeit some are partly genuine, but most students look for full scholarships to some of the best institutions, and only a handful of these scholarships found online can deliver that.

Well, for students in Nigeria. The search for verified scholarship opportunity has gotten a little easier with the launch of ScholarX. This startup is promising Nigerian students to connect them to quality and authentic scholarships to study to some of the best universities abroad.

ScholarX was founded last year by Abayomi Johnson, Abolade Lawal, and Maxwell Ogunfuyi. The platform touts itself as a simple, concise, and effective scholarship matching platform geared towards helping Nigerian students get scholarships for learning both in Nigeria and abroad.

Abolade Lawal says, “There are billions of scholarship funds out there not being claimed or having low application rates, and we hope to connect Nigerians with these scholarships. We plan to implement the same concept in Africa, one country at a time, and Ghana is likely to be our next destination.”

ScholarX has also made a mobile app for users. You can download the app from both Google Play Store or Apple App Store. To use the platform for securing a scholarship, you need to enlist by creating an account using your phone number or email address. Then proceed to stating your gender, institution, faculty, course, and CGPA. Based on that information, the platform will query and give you a result page with all scholarships that match your individual qualifications.
