Support Digital Girl, Inc. To Empower More Girls Into STEM

Digital Girl, Inc. is a startup STEM program geared towards empowering more girls to pursue a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math related courses. The organization is planning to open its first center at the Bedford Stuyvesant.

This community has been strategically picked because of the following reasons:

*More than 50% of the population is female

*Less than 38% of the residents have a high school education

*25% of the residents fall under the age of 18

*20% of the youth are disconnected (16-24 not working and not in school)

*32% of the residents are living below the poverty line

*About 8.2% of the residents are in STEM-related fields.

Statistics shows that women working in STEM-related fields earn 33% more than women making a living in fields not related to STEM. Empowering women is the key to empowering a community out of poverty.

The founders of Digital Girl, Inc. are seeking for funding among other resources in order to achieve their goal. They are currently running a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe. They are asking well-wishers to contribute funds and other resources like a home base that could serve as their headquarters from which they’ll run their daily operations and training.

Any form of assistance will be highly appreciated, and if you are not in a position to offer financial assistance, sharing this information with someone who can help will also be highly appreciated. To give your support and get more information about the Digital Girl, Inc. follow this link.
