The Top 10 Startups That Will Be Pitching At Seedstars Kampala | Sept 11

The Top 10 Startups That Will Be Pitching At Seedstars Kampala | Sept 11

Seedstars world, the international seed-stage startup competition seeking to give startups from emerging market a platform for exposure and growth will be setting up camp in Kampala, Uganda. The Seedstars Kampala competition will be taking place this September 11 at the Outbox Hub, kicking off at 4 PM – 9 PM.

Previous startups that participated in the competition managed to raise more than $20 million collectively. The companies that started as a result of the competition have provided jobs to more than 360 employees around the world.

To make this event possible, Seedstars World partnered with Google for Entrepreneurs and Stanbic Bank to nominate the teams that will be representing Uganda in the final competition to be held in Geneva.

The following are the successful startups that will pitch at the Seedstars Kampala competition:

Yoza: A mobile app that connects people with dirty laundry to people that offer laundry washing services. The app works by giving the two parties their locations on the map.

Roundbob: This startup wants to increase the numbers of African travellers by making travel information easily accessible and negating the cost challenges.

Health Portal Uganda: Wants to help health specialists and practitioners fill their open schedules thus making them more productive and efficient.

Tikiti App: Wants to make it easier for people to make booking and pay using their smartphones.

Exact and Clear: This software can narrate in audio the texts scanned from printed objects like papers.

Yaakaa Digital Network: This is a social networking platform that caters to the needs of students and lecturers at the University, Tertiary Institutions and High School levels among others.

Commonsense App: This app gives users trivia questions on some basic common sense facts and awards them point for each correct answer. Users can then trade in the points for tangible rewards.

SafeBoda: This app gives commuters safe, secure and convenient rides on motorbikes.

Wizarts Media:Today is an online portal that gives radio stations throughout Uganda, especially those based in rural areas daily news digest.

Krobits: This app gives TV shows fan an easier access to program lineups from the convenience of their mobile phones.
