There are things Women like to have Big, an iPhone is apparently NOT one of them

I don’t know if this is one of those things I should say ‘it’s debatable’ but I think most women would like to have a bigger house, a bigger paycheck, a bigger list of things we’ve accomplished, and the list goes on and on. However, I doubt as a woman I really need a big iPhone! I mean the average woman does not have a big hand to safely grab a big iPhone while using. The damn things costing a lot of money might just slip out of my hand.

Earlier this week, the Cupertino Company Apple unveiled its largest iPhone yet, and some think it’s just too big. The new iPhones have screens ranging from 5.8 inches to 6.5 inches; the biggest iPhone ever.

FYI, the first iPhone launched in 2007 had a 3.5-inch display. The latest iPhone, launched earlier this week is 6.5-inches big. You know what they say, the tech field is a testosterone-filled industry, and men continuously develop things they like, or what they think women would like. It is always from a man’s perception. Hence the big iPhone, which is steadily growing bigger. Though most women (the majority of whom have smaller hands compared to men) would agree, big is a word they don’t want to be associated with their phone.

The bigger the phone gets, the harder it is to use with one-hand. There is also the problem of moving around with it. An iPhone with a 4-inch display is much easier to put inside a purse and takes less space than one with a 6.5-inched display. From a health point of view, it makes sense for people with smaller hands not to have big phones.

I genuinely have RSI from having an iPhone 6, and it went as soon as I switched to an iPhone SE,” feminist Caroline Criado Perez told the Daily Telegraph.

“It genuinely does affect women’s hand health, women do buy more iPhones than men, it just baffles me that Apple doesn’t design with our bodies in mind. We should be furious about this, we are paying just as much money for it as men for a product that doesn’t work as well for us.

I have to make a choice between making an upgrade to the only phone that fits my hand before they discontinue it – soon there will be no iPhone that fits the average woman’s hand size – even though the technology is two years out of date. Or get a new one and deal with the fact that it’ll give me RSI. That’s not an acceptable choice in the 21st century, you need to have a smartphone.”

For the record, Apple will no longer continue producing the famously small iPhone SE.
