Togo Launches eLearning: Digital School Togo

The West African country, Togo, with a population of about six million can be said to have an education system that is a far cry compared to the world’s average standard. Not only is the education system underfunded, with inadequate school resources (classrooms, learning materials, electricity, libraries and ICT learning), but also the teachers are under-qualified and underpaid.

Well, this is about to change if the recent development is anything to go by. Togo launches a pilot program of Ecole Numerique Togo – ENT, ‘Digital School Togo’; program geared incorporating digital technology in teaching and enhancing ICT in the education system. The launch event was held at LETP, a high school funded by the Government located in Aneho-Gidji, about 40 km south-east of the country’s capital Lome.
