Top Women Scholarships Programs, You Should Know

Getting financial aid to pursue higher education is not as easy as it sounds. There are millions of students out there looking for scholarships and sometimes they simply are not looking in the right places. There are billions worth of scholarship funds and grants up on offer you just need to know where to look at. The following at the top 2013/14 scholarship programs offering grants, funds to female students pursuing higher education.

The Miss America Scholarship Fund

This program offers more than 12,000 scholarship to the young women who take part in the state and local competitions. It is also awarded to the Miss America first place winner, the four runners-up, the semi-finalist, and non-finalists. For more information follow this link.

The Women’s Independence Scholarship Program, Inc.

This scholarship was set up to help women who survived domestic violence and wish to return to school to further their education and become independent. The ideal candidate would be a single mother with young children and has little finances to pay for college. More information is available here.

SRR Women in Finance Scholarship

This is for junior students at a four-year college or university and majoring in finance, economics or accounting. More information here.

The AARP Foundation Women’s Scholarship Program

This scholarship program is for women seeking new job skills, training, and educational opportunities. The program is meant for women with low-income and have the age of 50 and above. For more information, follow this link.

Glamour’s Top 10 College Women Competition

This scholarship program is open to female students in their junior year of college and have excellent grades and demonstrate great leadership skills. More details here.

Asian Women In Business Scholarship Fund

This program awards scholarships to exceptional Asian female students based in the U.S.A and have demonstrated to be outstanding scholars and leadership. More details here.



Womenetics Advancing Aspirations Global Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded in a contest program where both men and women can participate. They must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. More details here.

Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship

This scholarship seeks to offer financial aid to both male and female students currently applying for, or are already enrolled in a barber or cosmetology school. More details here.

The Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund

The AWG Minority Scholarship Program

The Betty Rendel Scholarship

Job’s Daughters Supreme Scholarships

This program awards different types of scholarships to single female  high school seniors, graduates or students currently attending technical school or college. More details here.

The Young Women in Public Affairs Award

Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship

The American Association of Japanese University Women (AAJUW) Scholarship Program

This scholarship caters for Japanese women who are currently studying at an accredited college or university in the State of California. More details here.

National Student Nurses’ Association Scholarships

The Talbots Scholarship Program

This is a one-time scholarship program award to women who would like to return to school and earn their undergraduate degrees after they have graduated from high school or obtained their GED after at least ten years ago. More information here.

The Go Red Multicultural Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship program is to ensure there is the inclusion of multicultural women in the nursing and medical industries. The program seeks to address the important gaps in that industry.
