Touch ID is a nifty feature of the latest iPhone and iPad devices which allows you to sign in your phone just by putting your finger on the Touch ID sensor. But with convenience comes an extra burden. Sometimes you don’t want to have this tight accessibility lock on your phone. You might want multiple users, like your Wife or siblings, to use your iPhone whenever they want. In that case, touch id becomes a headache. Whatever the reason may be, you can always disable and turn off touch id in iPhone and iPad. In this article, I will tell you how to do that.
Turn off, Disable Touch ID, Fingerprint in iPhone, iPad
Please note that the method we will talk about completely disables the Touch ID. Of course you can enable it back whenever you change your mind. But you must have passcode enabled on your iPhone for security in case you are going to turn off touch id on your iPhone or iPad.
Launch Settings in your iPhone and iPad.
Now head over to “Touch ID & Passcode” and enter your passcode when prompted.
You will see a ‘Use Touch ID for’ tab, use the toggle switches and turn off Touch ID for different settings. You can disable it for all the settings if you want to get rid of touch id system completely. For example, you can turn off touch id for iPhone lock, Apple Pay, iTunes and other features. I would recommend not turning off touch id for Apple Pay because payment matters are always crucial and you cannot just risk someone else accessing your account.
This is how to disable touch id for iPhone and iPad. In case you change your mind in the future, you can enable touch id in your iPhone or iPad by going to the same settings section and enabling it by using the toggle buttons manually.
