Twitch Set To Acquire GoodGame In A Bid To Enhance ProPartnerships Experience

Twitch, the popular video-game-streaming service is said to be working on acquiring GoodGame. For those who are unfamiliar with the latter, it is a full-service agency serving the needs of pro-gamers and established brands with an interest in eSports industry. GoodGame has built a good reputation for itself over the last decade. Through sponsoring its own competition that connects various eSports teams and brands with popular third-party teams and creating viral contents for brands to be showcased to the gaming enthusiasts’ market.

Alex Garfield, GoodGame CEO said, “We’ve been responsible for funneling more than $10 million toward players, teams, tournaments, and other parts of the eSports ecosystem.”

Twitch has been having a successful run from the growing eSports industry, and by acquiring GoodGame the company is set to have even more revenue generated from the eSports industry. Stats show that on any given day, Twitch often has more people watching League of Legends, compared to those that concurrently watch major new networks.

Now that GoodGame has come aboard Twitch, the latter can charm itself into the business of running teams and earn some pro-gamers some money. In return, these popular gamers are more likely to use Twitch when streaming their games instead of using an alternative like Steam Broadcasting and YouTube.

Currently, Twitch makes it possible for Twitch partners (big shot gamers commanding a large number of subscribers) to be paid by running video ads during their streams. The new partnership with GoodGame will take Twitch several steps up the ladder in terms of interaction with bigger brands that will essentially work out to more revenue. GoodGame is likely to bring on board a big chunk of their previous working relationship and experience when it comes to pitching games to the audience.
