Tough times call for tough measures, or is it, desperate times calls for desperate measures? Uber has been facing an increasing and locally spawn competition in Kenya. Especially, since the Safaricom bank-rolled LittleCabs (now known as just Little) came into the local market.
Uber waged price wars against it competitors by dropping the fare prices, a move that backfired with drivers boycotting it. As it means, they will be taking home less money at the end of the day. Now Uber has formed a strategic partnership with Corporate Helicopters. A partnership targeting upmarket corporate clients that need to move from point A to point B fast, without the hassle of beating the Nairobi traffic.
Dubbed Uber Chopper this is a new commuter service by Uber for passenger wishing to travel fast. The services will be officially rolled out on September 4th, 2016 and will be available in Nairobi and Mombasa.
