Uber continues to grow and roll out in many cities around the world, with the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania becoming its 475th city to have the taxi-hailing service.

As the infrastructure of Dar es Salaam rapidly urbanizes, so the demand for affordable, easy, and flexible transport grows.” – Those were the words of Alon Lits, the General Manager for Uber sub-Saharan Africa as the service launched yesterday in Dar.

You don’t need to go outside and start yelling out and waving to passing taxis, simply push a button on your smartphone and wait for the taxi to pull up near you.
