Visa Everywhere, the international competition pitting the best of the best female entrepreneurs from across 75 countries globally is now receiving applications for the year 2019. There is $100,000 up for grabs for the winners.
This competition was launched in 2015 and is now active in 75 countries across the world. So far, it has awarded at least 70 sharp startups from across the world with cash prizes, mentorship opportunities and even opened for them roads to Visa’s clients and partners.
This year’s competition is looking for women-founded (or partly founded) startups within the fintech and social impact spaces. The participants will get international limelight in front of millions of investors, business partners, and government agencies from across the globe.
The competition is part of Visa long-term commitment to empowering women and addressing the gender disparity in the entrepreneurship world in general. The inaugural competition was a regional-focusing one, however, it changed into a global competition pitching regional winners against each other at a world stage.
Each participating region will send one winner to the final stage of the competition. The final leg of the competition will be held at the kick-off of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be held in France come June 7.
How to participate
Startups interested in participating in this year’s Visa Everywhere competition need to have at least one female founder. The startup’s solution (product or service) must be within the fintech or social impact landscape.
Each winner will walk home with $100,000 cash prize. Additionally, they will get access to clients and Visa’s vast network of clients and partners. Application deadline is April 14, 2019. The regional finalists will be selected in May.
