Do You Want Just to Cuddle? There is an App for that

There used to be a brick-and-mortar cuddling placed in Wisconsin called Snuggle House. But it got closed down last year after accusations of it acting as a front for prostitution being leveled against it. But all the same, if all you are looking for is to cuddle, without expectations and possible heart-breaks, now there is an app for that: Cuddlr.

The app works based on your location; it shows your profile to people near location who are also looking for a platonic cuddle. The app allows you to search for a person with an A+ cuddling skills; you can then send the “cuddling-candidate” of your choice, a cuddling request.

Should that person be interest, s/he will accept your request and in a matter of 15 minutes, the app will enable you two to start chatting. You can then discuss the ‘where-and-when’ details of how you two will meet up. The app also gives you live walking direction to facilitate an easier meet up process between you two.

Each user has a profile account, with the name, picture and ratings displayed. Cuddlr allows you to rate the person you were cuddling with, based on your judgment on just how well they know how to cuddle. According to the site

, more information other than the cuddling skills would just be a distraction and delay the process of decision making.

By now, am sure this thought must have crossed your mind: won’t the cuddle turn into something more, or won’t people start using this app for the same accusations leveled against Snuggle House? Well, the creator of Cuddlr, Charlie Williams, had the following to say about that when he was asked by Salon

.

What we state in the app’s ‘Rules of the Road’ is that you wait until the end of the cuddle, ask nicely, and be prepared to take either ‘yes’ or ‘no’ as an answer. Keep your cuddle a cuddle, don’t try to ‘change gears’ midway through.

And certainly don’t use this app to pick people up. Sex is a great thing too, but there are other apps for that. Use those ones if that’s what you’re looking for. Use Cuddlr when you want to hold and be held, to feel like all is right with the world, and to have a simple connection without expectation.”

For security purposes, the app enables you to block any user if and when you feel uncomfortable with them. The Cuddlr app creators will also remove any user who uses the app for purposes other than what it is meant for. To read more about this story, follow this link.
