This will be the first time for a conference bringing together women in tech run on such a big scale of across 40 countries in the world. The conference will take place both physically and virtually.
Across Africa, the Women in Tech week will happen in Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Niger, Malawi, Madagascar, Kenya, South Africa, Senegal (virtually), Tanzania, and Rwanda.
The conference will delve into ways to support more women into starting training and finding careers in the technology industry. It will also touch on ways more Africans could venture into technology.
The conference will have a different theme every day; technology, work and talent, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and technology for the next generation among others.
“This is a collaborative attempt to build a global network, allowing us women to compare our challenges, learn from other countries and connect across borders to expand our influence,” said Ethel Cofie, the founder of Women in Tech Africa.
