Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G Review
The Xiaomi Redmi Note offers a great display and satisfying performance in a manageable budget. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G review is presented here in detail.
Price and Availability
Xiaomi Redmi Note is currently available only in Asia. The price lies around $150 to $160 in Asia.
Design
It contains a 5.5-inches screen that has a lot of plastic around. It lies on a heavier side with weight of 199g. The set seems slightly bigger due to its weight as compared to the slim and sleek devices of the same size. It could be unfair to compare Xiaomi Redmi Note with high-end flagship devices in design elements.
The phone contains round corners for perfect fitting inside your hands. You will find it very comfortable to grip while playing games in landscape mode. The plastic back will feel a little untidy due to fingerprints.
Processor and Battery
Xiaomi Redmi Note is powered by MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The phone comes in two versions: one with 4G and the other with 3G connectivity. The 4G version contains high RAM of 2GB that should be sufficient to run applications fast enough.
The battery capacity is 3200mAh and your smartphone must last quite long on a single charge for average user activities.
Memory
The smartphone contains 8GB of internal storage that should be sufficient for most of the users. The power users can still use external microSD card up to 32GB space.
Connectivity
Xiaomi Redmi Note boasts 4G FDD-LTE (1800/2100MHz) and TDD-LTE (2600MHz) and 3G WCDMA (850/900/1900/2100MHz). With Xiaomi Redmi Note, you can enjoy high speed internet for downloading data at extremely fast rates.
Display
The screen size of 5.5-iches contains 720p display that offers a reasonably good experience for users. The colors are bright and viewing angles are also good. However, glass at the top might create some issues due to reflections. You don’t want to see reflection of your face every time when you stare at the screen.
Camera
Xiaomi Redmi Note contains an excellent 13MP rear camera and gorgeous 5MP front shooter. The picture quality is quite impressive. The camera app is quite simple to use and it is very good in snapping and shooting. It is also efficient while using it in the bursting mode.
Software
Xiaomi Redmi Note runs MIUI version 5, based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It is a completely custom version of the Android that pre-dates Xiaomi entry into the smartphone market. It contains Google Services already installed. However, if you don’t find Google Play store, you can grab it from Xiaomi’s own app market.
Overall, the first impressions of the Xiaomi Redmi Note are very good. The hardware and software aspects are quite impressive when you consider its price. The overall performance is much superior than might be indicated by the price.
