Yaicks!! Messenger Now Allows You Call Up To 50 People On A Single Group Call

I don’t know about where you are from, but where I am from; it is hard to get even ten friends willing to do a Facebook group call on Messenger. Even so, group calls open quite rarely, so it is one of Facebook’s features that we can’t complain about much given we rarely use.

I would imagine this happening in business setups, where business people would contact about 10 or 20 people in a single group call. Then again, I would see them using Skype as it is more mainstream for such types of things than Messenger.

Nonetheless, Facebook felt it necessary to allow you talk to a maximum of 50 people on a single group call on its Messenger app. I think 50 people on a single group call is quite a messy affair; I can already see people talking over each other and cutting each other short. The whole experience is going to feel like a noisy marketplace.

How to make the 50 people max. Messenger Group Call

Well, you dial up a Facebook contact as you would normally. While you are in a group chat, simply press the phone symbol and call up the contacts within that particular group chat.

Again, just how exactly you are going to get 50 people online on Facebook Messenger at the same time is another issue altogether. Unless you are a lecturer and can’t make it to class, and the class is already in session. You can then simply dial up the class rep on Messenger, to tell the rest of the class to go to the Facebook group chat for the class, but that is just hypothetical talk.

One this is for sure; Facebook is trying hard to catch up with Skype and Google Hangout, which have already established themselves as the go-to platform for video conferencing. Still, it is nice to know Facebook Messenger is another option.
