10 Famous People Who Died of  Drug Overdose

Drug addiction has annihilated many great people in the world. Drug and alcohol addiction imbibes a person and then slowly kills his skills and brain activity. In human history, we have tons of personalities who were died because of drug addiction. We have compiled a list of famous celebrities who breathed their last because of a drug overdose.

 

  • Philip Seymour Hoffman

Philip Seymour Hoffman was a famous American actor who was hero in “Capote.” He died of overdose of heroin on February 2, 2014 at the age of 46. Hoffman remained sober for 23 years prior to 2012 when he took the turn.

  • Jim Morrison

Main character of “The Doors”, died at the age of 27 of a heroin overdose. The reports differ about whether he died at a nightclub or at home, but it is clear that heroin was the factor.

 

 

 

  • Jimi Hendrix

Famous Guitarist was addicted to many drugs, mainly LSD, marijuana, heroin etc. He was arrested in 1969 for bearing heroin, but he was cleared of those charges. He died in 1970 of a drug excessive use.

  • Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston died of using cocaine excessively on Feb. 11, 2012, in her Beverly Hills, Calif. hotel room at an age of 49.

 

  • River Phoenix

Front character of “Stand by Me.” died of a heroin overdose on October 31, 1993 just at 23 years. He died on the street in front of Johnny Depp’s club The Viper Room where he was to perform.

 

  • Chris Farley

He was a great comedian actor who appeared in the film “Tommy Boy.” On December 18, 1997, Farley took excessive heroin and cocaine and was a victim of death. He was 33 years old.

  • Michael Jackson

Legendary pop singer and dancer, born on Aug. 29, 1958, passed away at his Beverly Hills, Calif. house because of cardiac arrest caused by an excessive use of propofol and benzodiazepine, which made him sleep. He died on June 25, 2009.

 

  • Marilyn Monroe

American Actress, model and singer, born on June 1, 1926 was the one who made the front appearance, starring in a number of commercially motion pictures during the early 1960s. She was addicted to heroin and it’s over dosage caused her death on August 5, 1962.

 

 

 

  • Heath Ledger

Known for his best performance in “Brokeback Mountain” and “The Dark Knight,” Heath Ledger died on Jan. 22, 2008 in New York by overdose of drugs, including oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam and alprazolam.

 

 

  • Brian Adams

Professional American wrestler, Brian Adams was born on April 14 1964. Adams received illegal steroids in February 2006, including testosterone and HGH and was found unconscious in his bed by his wife. It was investigated and revealed that these drugs were speculated to have played a role in his death on August 13, 2007.
